Insoluble Sulphur

Insoluble sulphur is a premium vulcanizing agent widely used in the rubber and tyre industry to improve heat stability, prevent sulphur bloom, and ensure uniform curing throughout rubber compounds. Unlike ordinary sulphur, which dissolves in rubber at processing temperatures, insoluble sulphur remains in its polymeric form—providing superior dispersion and eliminating staining or migration during storage and mixing.

At Recyklr, we supply industrial-grade insoluble sulphur designed to meet the requirements of tyre manufacturers, rubber compounding units, conveyor belt producers, and molded rubber goods manufacturers. Our material offers excellent thermal stability, high conversion rates, and consistent performance across applications.

Insoluble sulphur is essential for modern rubber processing because it enhances the dimensional stability of rubber during vulcanization, especially in high-performance and high-temperature conditions. It prevents reversion, reduces defects, and helps achieve stronger, cleaner, and more uniform final products.

With controlled particle size, low ash content, and reliable dispersion characteristics, Recyklr's insoluble sulphur supports efficient processing, reduces blooming issues, and improves the overall quality of rubber compounds used in critical industrial applications.

Specifications

Material Type: Polymeric sulphur (insoluble grade) used for rubber vulcanization Form: Fine yellow powder or granular form Sulphur Content: Typically 90%–95% (depending on grade) Oil Content: Stabilized with 20%–40% oil to prevent dusting and improve handling Solubility: Insoluble in rubber at processing temperatures; remains in polymeric form Thermal Stability: High heat stability to prevent premature conversion or reversion during mixing Dispersion Quality: Uniform dispersion in rubber compounds without bloom or migration Ash Content: Low ash for clean processing and improved final product quality Moisture Content: Controlled to ensure consistent mixing and reduced clumping Odor: Mild sulphur odor, typical of vulcanizing agents Application Compatibility: Suitable for tyres, rubber compounds, belts, hoses, and molded rubber goods Packaging: Supplied in moisture-protected bags or drums

Benefits

Prevents Sulphur Bloom: Insoluble sulphur does not migrate to the surface of rubber during storage or processing, ensuring clean, defect-free rubber compounds. Improved Heat Stability: Its polymeric structure remains stable under high processing temperatures, reducing premature vulcanization and improving mixing safety. Uniform Vulcanization: Provides consistent dispersion throughout the rubber matrix, resulting in even curing and stronger final products. Enhanced Dimensional Stability: Helps rubber maintain its shape during vulcanization, essential for tyres, belts, and molded components. Reduced Reversion: Minimizes the risk of reversion in high-temperature applications, enhancing durability and product lifespan. Better Adhesion and Performance: Contributes to improved bonding between rubber layers, crucial for tyre tread, sidewalls, and industrial rubber goods. Cleaner Processing: Low dust and controlled particle size reduce contamination and improve handling efficiency. Essential for Modern Tyre Manufacturing: Provides performance characteristics that cannot be achieved with regular sulphur, making it critical for radial tyres and high-performance rubber products.
